The local governing committee
St Peter’s Primary School is supported by a Local Governing Committee (LGC), which works closely with the headteacher, members of staff, and pupils to ensure that the school goes from strength to strength. The Embrace Scheme of Delegation sets out the areas that the LGC is responsible for.
School governors provide strategic leadership and are a vital link between the school, parents/carers and the wider community. The local governing committee supports and challenges the headteacher through regular meetings and visits to the school. The first meeting each term focuses on educational standards and the second meeting each term focuses on safeguarding, business and operations, such as finance, health & safety and the school premises.
