Our Church School

We are very proud to be a Church of England school

Religions and Beliefs Roadshow

We welcomed the team from the St Phillip’s Centre in Leicester to learn about different faiths and beliefs. The pupils and staff were fascinated to meet the faith practioners who answered the wide variety of questions that were put to them.

Visits and Visitors

Throughout the year we learn about other faiths and beliefs. This learning is enhanced by visits and visitors.

St Peter

We are inspired by St Peter and have ‘The St Peter’s Way’ to reflect our vision of ‘Inspiring Learning For Life’ based on his life.

Rev Poskitt’s Assemblies

Rev Poskitt visits and leads us in collective worship each half term. We engage with stories from the bible and reflect upon their meaning on our lives. Rev Poskitt plays the guitar brilliantly and we enjoyed learning his songs.

Our approach to Collective Worship

2023- 2024

O Lord
Bless our school that working together and playing together we can serve you and learn to serve one another.
In Jesus name Amen.

The pupils take part in collective worship which is planned with support from the Diocese of Leicester. The themes are developed from our Christian values and are based on a mixture of bible stories and moral issues.

On Fridays we celebrate the work of pupils by sharing their achievements and learning.

Parents have the right to withdraw their child from Collective Worship. Those who wish to do so should discuss the matter with Mrs Holt.

Remembrance Sunday

Year 6 pupils attended the Market Bosworth parade and service, representing the families and staff of our school, in remembering all those who have served our country and continue to do so. This followed our service at school in which all pupils and staff took part.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God.” Matthew 5:9

Advent At Leicester Cathedral

We enjoyed the Advent Service at the cathedral. The nativity by high school students was very well received. We also enjoyed meeting Bishop Guli and had time to look at the nativity scene outside the town hall.

At St Peter’s Church

We attend services each term at St Peter’s, Market Bosworth. Rev Poskitt and his team welcome us for our Harvest Festival, our Advent and Easter services. We also end our school year with a Leavers’ Service on the last day of term. The pupils share readings from the bibles, prayers and sing to celebrate the learning we have enjoyed each term.
