It is the mission of St Peter’s C of E Primary Academy to:

Through our vision, which follows the parable of The Good Samaritan, we support all members of the school community to have compassion for those around them, showing love, understanding and empathy.  Our community is supported to help those around them, not passing by.   

  

We also embrace the story of St Peter and support the lesson that everyone makes mistakes, but it is how we learn from them that defines us.  As St Peter holds the keys to heaven, in our school our St Peter’s way holds the keys to being a positive and inspiring member of any community. 

St Peter’s C of E Primary Academy strives to enrich the lives of our pupils, their families and the community around us.  

By learning together, we will develop knowledge, understanding and a positive attitude to ourselves and those around us. We will use our St Peter’s way as a model to embrace and follow. 

Our approach will always be respectful and kind as we challenge ourselves to be better teachers, parents, pupils and members of the school community.

Collective Worship

Services

Collective Worship

Collective Worship is a statutory requirement for all schools in England and Wales. However, at St Peter’s C of E Primary School, Collective Worship is so much more than this.  It is a time for our school community to come together, learn together, reflect together, a time for children, staff and visitors to be still, engage and if they feel called to, respond.  It is the heartbeat of our school and it plays a fundamental role in shaping pupils’ character, thinking and actions. 

Worship reflects the variety of traditions found in the Church of England as well as other Christian traditions, and recognises and follows the Church of England’s liturgical year. The daily act of worship is central to our ethos and is supported by all staff and governors, it is inclusive, invitational and inspiring.

Collective Worship at St Peter’s strengthens and supports the distinctive Christian character of our school and reaffirms our Christian values of Respect, Compassion, Creativity, Endurance and Wisdom.

Our school community takes part in collective worship on a daily basis, as follows

  • Monday – iSing Pop

  • Tuesday – A Global Citizenship theme

  • Wednesday – Christian Values / Festival links

  • Thursday – Singing assembly 

  • Friday – Celebration – recognition of achievements and recognition for seeing our St Peter’s keys to success in action.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        We start our daily worship with this prayer and take a moment of reflection as we come together.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             At the end of our time we take a moment to think about what we have learnt and then use sign language to say ‘Peace be with you’ before we leave.

Services

Remembrance Sunday

Year 6 pupils attended the Market Bosworth parade and service, representing the families and staff of our school, in remembering all those who have served our country and continue to do so. This followed our service at school in which all pupils and staff took part.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God.” Matthew 5:9

Advent At Leicester Cathedral

We enjoyed the Advent Service at the cathedral. The nativity by high school students was very well received. We also enjoyed meeting Bishop Guli and had time to look at the nativity scene outside the town hall.

At St Peter’s Church

We attend services each term at St Peter’s, Market Bosworth. Rev Poskitt and his team welcome us for our Harvest Festival, our Advent and Easter services. We also end our school year with a Leavers’ Service on the last day of term. The pupils share readings from the bibles, prayers and sing to celebrate the learning we have enjoyed each term.
