Our Curriculum
At St Peter’s C of E Primary School, our curriculum is designed to ensure that every child can flourish together within the love of God. We provide a broad, balanced, ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum that ‘Inspires learning for life’ and enables all pupils to achieve their full potential. Rooted in our Christian vision and values, our curriculum carefully builds knowledge, skills and understanding over time, ensuring that learning is meaningful, connected and accessible to every child.
Through high expectations, rich learning experiences and a clear progression of knowledge, we develop confident, curious and resilient learners who are prepared for the next stage of their education and for life beyond the classroom. We believe that every child is valued and valuable in the eyes of God, and our curriculum reflects this by providing appropriate support and challenge for all learners while promoting inclusion, aspiration and excellence.
Inspired by the teachings of the Good Samaritan, we nurture children who show compassion, empathy and a commitment to helping others. Through the example of St Peter, we encourage our pupils to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes and persevere in their pursuit of success. Alongside academic achievement, our curriculum develops character, wellbeing and personal responsibility, helping children to become active citizens who contribute positively to their communities.
Our curriculum is enriched through strong partnerships between home, school, church and the wider community, providing memorable experiences that deepen learning and broaden horizons. As children move through our school, they develop the key qualities of a St Peter’s pupil: Compassion, Wisdom, Respect, Creativity and Endurance. These values guide our learning, shape our relationships and provide the keys to success, enabling all members of our school family to learn together, grow together and flourish together.
