Pupil Leadership and Personal Development

At St Peter’s, all pupils are encouraged to participate in a wide range of enriching activities and experiences, both within and beyond the curriculum. These opportunities enable children to contribute positively to school life and become active members of the wider community.

Through these experiences, pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence while strengthening their sense of identity and character. They learn the importance of teamwork, respect and responsibility, gaining the skills and values needed to build positive relationships and make a meaningful contribution to their communities, both now and in the future.

At St Peter’s, our Digital Leaders are a team of enthusiastic pupils who help promote the safe, responsible, and effective use of technology across the school.

Digital Leaders play an important role in supporting both children and staff with technology. They help to develop digital skills, share useful tips, test new apps and resources, and encourage everyone to stay safe online.

What Do Our Digital Leaders Do?

🌟 Support younger pupils with technology

🌟 Share online safety messages and advice

🌟 Help teachers and classes use digital tools

Why Are Digital Leaders Important?

By taking on this role, pupils develop valuable skills including:

  • Leadership
  • Communication
  • Problem solving
  • Teamwork
  • Digital literacy
  • Responsibility

Online Safety Ambassadors

As role models within our school, Digital Leaders help spread important online safety messages. They encourage children to think carefully about how they use technology and remind others to be kind, respectful, and safe when working online.

Our Vision

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to become a confident digital citizen. Through the work of our Digital Leaders, we aim to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of technology while ensuring that online safety remains at the heart of everything we do.

“Technology is best when it brings people together, helps us learn, and inspires us to create.”

Our House Captains are outstanding Year 6 pupils who demonstrate our Keys to Success every day through their wisdom, creativity, respect, endurance and compassion. As trusted role models and ambassadors for the school, they lead and inspire their house teams, encouraging participation, teamwork and a strong sense of belonging. House Captains play a key role in supporting sporting events throughout the year, motivating pupils to do their best and celebrating success with others. Our winning House Captains are also given the honour of helping to lead our weekly Achievement Assemblies, recognising and celebrating the accomplishments of their peers. Through their leadership, responsibility and positive example, our House Captains help to foster a school community where everyone can thrive and succeed.

Peer Mediators are a valued team of pupils who generously give up their lunchtime to support others in resolving friendship difficulties and minor conflicts. Guided by our school values of compassion, endurance, creativity, respect and wisdom, they help children talk through problems, listen to different viewpoints and find positive solutions together. Rather than solving issues for others, our Peer Mediators encourage pupils to develop the confidence and independence needed to manage disagreements respectfully and responsibly. Through their kindness, patience and commitment to helping others, they make a positive contribution to our school community and help create a supportive environment where every child feels heard, respected and valued

Positivity Ambassadors are a dedicated team of pupils who help promote positive mental health and wellbeing across our school. Trained by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, our ambassadors play an important role in supporting their peers, encouraging kindness, inclusion and positive relationships. They contribute to our weekly Wellbeing Wednesdays, helping to plan and lead activities that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and friendship. They also run a range of lunchtime activities, providing opportunities for children to connect, have fun and feel supported. Through their leadership, our Positivity Ambassadors help create a happy, caring and supportive environment where every child feels valued and listened to.

At our school, we are proud to promote democracy by giving all pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2 the opportunity to take part in electing their class representatives. Each class votes for two councillors who will represent their views and ideas on the School Council. The School Council provides an important voice for pupils, encouraging them to contribute to decision-making and take an active role in school life. Working together, councillors listen to their classmates, share suggestions, identify areas for improvement and help find solutions to issues that matter to children. Through this process, pupils develop leadership skills, responsibility and an understanding of how democratic systems work, while making a valuable contribution to the ongoing development and improvement of our school.
